In 2015, Chef Loghan made a visit to meet Erik Cutter, Managing Director of Alegría Fresh and it just so happens that it was this connection that led to the inspiration and beginning of Planted Cuisine.
Alegría Fresh designs and builds zero-waste, regenerative organic microfarms using their high-yield soil-based SoxxBoxx Gro system. This technology and approach to farming is critical when considering the urban areas and need for nutrient rich foods where it otherwise doesn’t exist. The ability to deploy Soxx farms -literally anywhere- is a game-changer that is quickly gaining attention and support as cities reorient toward healthier futures.
Erik has been a close friend and mentor to Loghan from their first meeting in 2015. Since that time, the duo has collaborated on countless dinner experiences, events, dinners and various public engagements. They quickly realized the combination of passion and experience they brought to food & agriculture was a dynamic and successful partnership. While based in separate locations, they continue to find ways to collaborate and uplift their visions of a regenerative future.

The partnership between Alegría Fresh and Planted Cuisine continues to this date with the birth of a new project collaboration called Farmer, Chef & Physician. This collaboration is in its early stages, but it aims to uplift the notion of our future community leaders being Farmers, Chefs & Physicians. Learn more about this new project here:
